Shooting cats and dogs
Every time we open Instagram, we're bombarded by images of cute puppies or bored cats. But how often are they good images? Almost never. As a wildlife photographer, I know how hard it is to shoot these adorable, easily distracted creatures. Here are a few tips on shooting cats and dogs.
Yawn!
We've all seen those ferocious pictures of dogs with flaring teeth and snarling at the camera. But how often do these animals growl? The trick to taking those insane images is to look for the yawn. Surprisingly, cats and dogs yawn quite often. As soon as you see a yawn coming, take a burst of images.

What's the difference between This image and this? Her foot is off the ground. It might be a small change, but it makes all the difference. When shooting animals, always use images with one foot in the air. This adds motion and speed to your images, making them more dynamic and engaging.
The key to shooting any animal is to stay creative. Try and zoom into a paw or some wings, or zoom out and leave the animal a speck in the background. Creativity makes outstanding images.
